Part 10: Pre Production-Photograph Day

Monday 8th March 2010

On Monday i have taken still images from the Mac. At first i struggled taking the photos since it was my first time i have used  the editing software-Final Cut. after few attempts i managaed to take the photos according to the research i done previously. for example  the image contains the background of the flat and the actors on the top as they are found in typical crime drama principles, I gained this from the research on the DVD covers of several crime dramas such as 'Prime Suspect’ ‘CSI-Miami'. Using these examples I have taken photos from the Mac as Still Images. Such as  I have used a Close Up-Personal Shot of the female villain so it demonstrates the protagonist to the audience These images will also draw my audience attention upon it as it is usual in crime dramas to have a female actor as the protagonist so my audience will find this engaging and interesting as a new television crime drama, which promotes them to read my article.

at the same time i have also taken images of the female villian keep her two ex-husbands in hostage.this image is very fundamental to my article as this image represents the narrative prespective to my audeince which makes my  crime drama more dramatic and enjoyable at cerain extent of course.

Part 9: Pre Production Making of the Article 2

Wednesday, 3rd March 2010

for the last part of magazine article i have wrtitten the  interview for example, director and star interview. i gained this thought while i researched on the film magazine. therefore i believe it is a fundamental aspect to include in my article. i believe this enable my audeince to explore about my crime darma in futher extend. i have supported the interview by including quote for the interviewer-the ITV Studio Presenter and the interviewee-Female Villain. this will result to make the advertisement more interesting, inspiring towards the audience. This provides my audience with insight issues thus gives greater understanding about my crime drama, which will further persuade my audience to my media product.

Part 8: Pre Production- Making of the Article 1

Monday 1st March 2010

for the making of my article i have decided to use Publisher since i believe it is a suitable software to make a article which i have also have previous experience on it. So i decided to follow the research I did on the three section of my article as mentioned before for example, colour, design/ layout and information.

Initially, i started to write the text to my article as the images will be taken from the Mac later. therefore when i have first started to write the article i felt i was able to proceed further i believe i had effect research in order to support my article in further extend of course.
I decided to write about the narrative information to give the audience the sense of my crime drama to attract their attention towards my crime drama. At times I thought it was difficult for me to the write the article as I considered whether my article is suitable to meet the criteria of an actual feature article or not at certain extend. To enable me to do this I referred back to the research I did on the Film Articles. Based upon these researches i found they used many repetition, listing techniques which i have also have previous experience from English. This is because these language techniques are used for persuasive a writing technique which meets the expectation and the purpose behind my article. In this case I want my audience to capture their interest on my crime.

For the beginning of my article I have decided to give information regarding to my crime drama since many of research have that. Then I have written a synopsis in relation to my protagonist troubled relationship experiences, which is a typical convention found in crime dramas. To gain my audience interest towards my article I used several language techniques such as repetition, triplets and alliteration as they are used in persuasive writing, which is the purpose of my article. At the same time I have used many emotive language ‘heartless, hatred’ to acquire emotional response from my audience so they feel sympathy and compassion about the protagonist situation. Therefore this will lead onto reading my article as women in particular enjoy reading about these issues.

Part 7: Pre Production-Colour

Thursday, 26th Feb 2010

Background Colour:

Altrough i do consider that the use of colours may not be suitable to my traget audience at certain extend of course. since it is aimed at older and mature female who may prefer fermine colours such as pink/ purple at times. However the purpose of using dark colours as part of the background to my atricle  so  it relates to crime drama genre in order to create a mysterious, sinister and tensed atmosphere. i have gained this idea from looking at certain DVD covers of crime drama. Such as 'Prime Suspect', 'CIS' etc... based from this clarification i determined to use black/ blue background colours.

Font Colour:

since i am going to use dark colours for the background therefore i have decided to use light front colour, in this case white. i believe this particular front colour will be suitable and readable to my audience.

Part 6: Pre Production-Layout and Design / Images

Wednesday 26th Feb 2010

Layout/ Design:

i researched on several magazine articles to gain the layout of my article. as a result, i have decided to have image rather than text on the first coloum of my article. this is because my social-economic for my target adueince is Working Class-C2, therefore they may pefer an image at the start of the atricle as from many prespectives this may social-calss don't entry  futher /higher education. in order words they may require an image to attract thier attention instead of text, which was another intention of mine. as a result it emphasises the focus of the arrticle itself.

Images:

this leads onto me deciding to have  an image of the flat and the actors: female villain, the and male victims on the first coloum of my article. I have decided to tuse this design regarding my article after doing research on the DVD covers of several crime dramas. such as 'Prime Suspect ' and others. after these research i have investigated that it would be suitable to have a background of the flat in a watermark format, then applying the actor images. these images will be taken from the Mac as Still Images  For example, i will put the Female Villian in the middle of the flat photo as  Close Up-Personal Shot, so demonstares the protogonists to the aduience. then i will put the 2 photos of the victims on each side of her through the use of Medium Close up shot-Social shot as shown on the right

in the same way, i am going use two types of actors facial expression upon these photos. For instance, for the female villian i will put a  expression of anger to show the dark side of her as the villain. this will make it interesting and dramatic as seeing a female actor as have such facial expression for a female actor employed within a crime drama. on the other hand, for the male victims they will seem as scared towards their female villain again it is a unusual feature found for male actor found within crime dramas. therefore it will make it eneging for my audience as shown on the left.

Other images will taken hwn the female villain will keep her ex-husbands in hostage, which will be a dramatic convention found in crime dramas usually it is vice-versa. as a matter of fact it will clearly refer to the narrarive context of my crime drama.

another image i am going to have for my article is the director and the female villlian  photos. For  instance,  a photo of the director. this photo i will get from the internet as i know. in contrary, for the female villian i will use a close up shot of her face. as i believe it will not be neccessary to have a Medium shot of her as it will be more stuitbale this form. as shown on the right

i will also have a image as a screen award of the female villain like the example shown on the right. in the case of my crime drama it will be based upon the interview with her rather than a award show.  to be able to do this i will take a close up shot of her face. then i will research a model outfit which i will edit in as part of her body.

overall, these images will give a clear outline of my crime drama, which will be useful for my article convention.

Part 6: Pre Production-Information

Tuesday, 25th Feb 2010

Information:

Initially, for the beginning of my article i have decided to give information regarding to my crime drama. such as a short narrative about my crime drama. within this information it will answer the five W's. for example, What, When, Where, How and why. I have decided to use these concepts because normally in magazine articles they cover these information.

i decided to use many elements from my crime drama  as possibale so i determined to inform the audeince about the narrative. Interview like Director and Star. therefore my audience can explore about

Part 5: Pre Production-Research 3

for the PLANNING of my pre-production i have decided to put in to 3 sections which includes about the choice of colour, layout/ design and selected images from my crime drama.

Part 4: Pre Production-Research 2

Monday, 10th Feb 2010

As part of my initial research to my pre-production i looked at several layout of film magazine which i believed was beneficial for me to gain information, colour and images aspects the magazines use to sell their Media product. Therefore i have decided to read and analyse the research of magazines as shown below:
